Alicia Jones, Senior Billing Specialist
What makes Child & Family a special place to work? The simple answer is the people: the dedicated group of professionals who have made the choice to work for a health and human service agency that serves their communities and the people who live in them. Child & Family was established in 1866 to support the children and families of Newport County. Over the years they have expanded to servicing all of Rhode Island, from those as young as 6-weeks-old, to the other end of the lifespan with clients that are over 100-years-young!
Meet Alicia Jones, Child & Family’s Senior Accounting Assistant, and please congratulate her as she celebrates her 21st anniversary working at Child & Family. Alicia’s history goes back even farther than that. At age 3, Alicia attended Child & Family’s nursery school when it was on School Street; now it is called Sandpiper’s Early Learning Center. For generations, this program has given families of Newport County the support they need so that parents can go to work knowing their children are being safely taken care while receiving the highest quality care and educational experiences.
“It takes a special kind of person to work for a non-profit. You need to care about the mission and know that every job here supports our community. I grew up with both parents working, and we depended on the services offered from organizations like Child & Family. After 21 years, the people I work with are my family.” -Alicia
