Family Stabilization Program
Working To Improve Family Structure and Prevent Out-Of-Home Placement
The Family Stabilization Program (FSP) provides therapeutic counseling and case management services to support families with a child at imminent risk of out–of–home placement. The primary goal of FSP is to fortify the family structure from within. The program emphasizes the importance of providing at–home stability that strengthens a family’s ability to raise safe and healthy children who are ready to learn and succeed.Â

How it works...
FSP’s multi–phase treatment model addresses the root of family destabilization, access to the basic resources, in conjunction with clinical supports such as teaching healthy parenting, coping, and life skills to help families navigate major life transitions. FSP serves as a gateway to its partner families by helping them to access transportation and linkages to food pantries, housing programs, financial programs provided by the Department of Human Services (DHS), and other basic needs programs and services that support the family.Â
The program, which is free and requires a referral from either DCYF or an FCCP, is offered in both English and Spanish. The majority of all clients who complete the program meet most or all their treatment goals, and 70-80% of all youth discharged remain at home.Â
