Our mission is to strengthen individuals, families, and the communities in which they live by identifying needs and utilizing best practices.

Career Opportunities

Welcome to Child & Family, where we strengthen families, their members, and the communities in which they live. Child & Family is a private, 501(c) 3 Social Service Agency. Every day since 1866, members of the Rhode Island community have come together at Child & Family to receive help, to give help and to support the work of others.

Throughout the year we are working in the community to provide compassionate care to all those who are in need. We are proud of our outstanding reputation, solid financial history and exceptional professional staff.  Child & Family is the second-oldest and largest social service agency in Rhode Island.

Staff Testimonials

Alicia Jones, Senior Billing Specialist

“It takes a special kind of person to work for a non-profit. You need to care about the mission and know that every job here supports our community. I grew up with both parents working, and we depended on the services offered from organizations like Child & Family. After 21 years, the people I work with are my family.”

Brenna Berglund, Performance, Quality & Improvement Supervisor

Approaching my 3-year anniversary at Child & Family, I couldn’t be prouder of my contribution or more thankful for the opportunity! Though I came to the agency without a background in direct service or social work, I am able to use my skills and strengths to support my colleagues who work with the community, and to advance the agency’s mission. Each workday feels like a success, knowing I helped someone to help someone else.

Jessie Drew, FCT & FFT Clinical Supervisor

Whenever people ask me about Child & Family, I can honestly tell them that the environment created by the leadership and the staff who are dedicated to our mission are unlike anywhere I have ever worked. One of my favorite things about Child & Family is the ability for staff members to grow and develop professionally
