Child & Family’s Middletown Community Center
31 John Clarke Road, Middletown, RI 02842
Before our new 38,000 square foot facility was available for use, our staff and clients were spread out across Newport County in various buildings working separately. Now this efficient use of space, designed by Vision 3 Architects and built by E.W. Burman, Inc. allows our departments to work together on a daily basis as an all-inclusive entity.
Department heads, staff and volunteers can quickly come together in teams to offer help when needed. Counseling rooms and clinical spaces are plentiful and offer private access areas to respect the privacy of our clients. Five conference rooms are used for meetings by other local clubs, organizations and service providers. Lectures and workshops are regularly attended and ultramodern communication tools are easily accessed.
Sandpipers Early Learning Center
Within the Middletown Community Center is the Sandpipers Early Learning Center, a state-of-the-art child care center for children between six weeks and five years of age. It includes eight bright, spacious classrooms: two each for infants, yearlings, toddlers and preschoolers. Each age group has a separate entrance and age appropriate outdoor playground.
This shared community space symbolizes the way Child & Family works as “the cornerstone of social services for Newport County.”
