Middletown (RI) September 9, 2021 – Child & Family will host their 38th Taste of Newport (Virtual) Campaign & Auction this fall. The giving starts NOW and culminates with an amazing high-end online auction starting on Friday, October 22, 2021, at 9 am, through Sunday, October 24, 2021, at 8 pm. Donations can be made on their campaign website at Childandfamilyritasteofnewport.org.
The annual fundraiser benefits the many Rhode Island families, children, and seniors who use Child & Family programs and services during times of crisis. The ongoing COVID-19 health pandemic is a multi-pronged threat to systems of health and social and racial justice, exacerbating homelessness, job loss, food insecurity and substance use disorder affecting many people disproportionately. The concurrent pandemics undermine the safety of vulnerable children and families. After some very careful consideration it has been decided with support of the Child & Family Development & Communications Committee, leadership team, and statewide experts from groups such as the RI Department of Health, to host their 38th Annual Taste of Newport virtually. With the rise of positive COVID-19 cases due to the Delta Variant, it is the best decision to keep staff, volunteers, and supporters safe.
“We are confident we can still reach our fundraising goal and are more than halfway there due to support of our Community Partners,” says Marty Sinnott, President & CEO, Child & Family. “We are incredibly disappointed not to be hosting an in-person event but please know all event sponsorships have always gone towards programmatic support. Donations to Child & Family help homeless families find a safe place to live through our Supportive Housing program, gives homebound seniors a lifeline through our Elders Program, and secures safe placement for traumatized children through our Foster Care program. Ultimately your gift is how Child & Family can continue to serve our clients in need.”
The Campaign is co-chaired by Mark and Ida Aramli with The Aramli Foundation. The Aramli Foundation is a new private charitable foundation intended to support families and children in need and is funded directly by proceeds from the BedJet company, enabled by the over 100,000 units sold by the BedJet company and its continued emergence as a national sleep brand. The Foundation’s mission is most heavily focused on children and family needs in the area surrounding the BedJet headquarters in Newport, RI.
Child & Family’s 38th Annual Taste of Newport (Virtual) Campaign + Auction will include a luxury online auction as the highlight of this fundraising effort. Child & Family is currently seeking unique high-end auction item donations as well as sponsors, which currently include The Aramli Foundation, BedJet, J2Construct, Inc., Rotary Club of Newport, Citizens Bank, Regan Heating and Air Conditioning, Affiliated Insurance Managers, BankNewport, Bowen’s Wharf Company, Corrigan Financial, Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI), Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty, Kiwanis Club of Newport, Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island, People’s Credit Union, PKF O’Connor Davies, Secure Networks, Brady Sullivan Properties, as well as leadership gifts from Sue Klau, and Edward Kale and Kate Hoepfner Karle.
