Jessie Drew, FCT & FFT Clinical Supervisor
Whenever people ask me about Child & Family, I can honestly tell them that the environment created by the leadership and the staff who are dedicated to our mission are unlike anywhere I have ever worked. One of my favorite things about Child & Family is the ability for staff members to grow and develop professionally. I started at Child & Family in 2017, as a clinical intern with the Family Stabilization Program (FSP) and was soon given the opportunity to work with a population I grew to love through my work in FSP, the youth involved in Rhode Island’s juvenile justice system. I grew into a position as a Functional Family Therapy (FFT) clinician because of leadership who genuinely cared about my interest in the population FFT serves. I didn’t even know about the program at that time, but leadership identified my strengths and helped guide me to the perfect job. From there, I gained the skills needed to become a clinical supervisor and have grown to oversee two of our clinical programs, Family Centered Treatment (FCT) and Functional Family Therapy (FFT). Now I am lucky enough to be a part of a management team and can assist others in identifying their passions, gaining clinical skills, and furthering their careers—which has become one of the best parts of my job. Child & Family has become my second home. It’s an “all hands-on deck” type of place with team building, and cooperation. Not to mention, we have the most fun at our employee engagement events. Our Holiday Party and Kickball tournaments are something to look forward to!
