At age 84, Grace lived in the same Newport home she raised her children in. Her husband passed away a few years earlier and like so many elders she did not wish to burden her children and grandchildren, all of whom lived over an hour away. Knowing daily responsibilities would only become more difficult with the passing of time, Grace sought assistance from Child & Family. Through our Home Care program, Grace was able to remain independent and safe within her home until the age of 98 when she peacefully passed away in comfort and with dignity.
