Child & Family is a private, nonprofit organization working every day to help the most vulnerable children, families, and seniors across Rhode Island since 1866.
Our mission is to strengthen individuals, families, and the communities in which they live by identifying needs and utilizing best practices.
Whenever people ask me about Child & Family, I can honestly tell them that the environment created by the leadership and the staff who are dedicated to our mission are unlike anywhere I have ever worked. One of my favorite things about Child & Family is the ability for staff members to grow and develop professionally
Approaching my 3-year anniversary at Child & Family, I couldn’t be prouder of my contribution or more thankful for the opportunity! Though I came to the agency without a background in direct service or social work, I am able to use my skills and strengths to support my colleagues who work with the community, and to advance the agency’s mission. Each workday feels like a success, knowing I helped someone to help someone else.
Lex grew up in Connecticut but now lives in Rhode Island. Lex graduated from the University of Rhode Island with her Bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies.
Ginger grew up and still lives in Rhode Island. She received her Licensed Practical Nurse from Rhode Island Junior College. She has been with Child & Family for over 17 years.
